Making care special is at the heart of Gilmerton Care Home in Edinburgh. Our philosophy starts with getting to know each person as an individual and understanding what they need.

Residents are considered part of the family at Gilmerton, a comfortable and welcoming care home in Edinburgh.

We put the health and happiness of people living here at the heart of everything we do, and our dedicated team of nurses and carers actively encourage them to take part in all decisions – contributing to everything from the way their rooms look to the therapies they receive.

All our rooms are en-suite and some have excellent views of our beautiful garden. Residents can personalise their spaces, and can even choose their own colour schemes to make them more homely.

We are close to various amenities and public transport - and with Cameron Toll Shopping Centre just a mile away, a spot of shopping is always an option.

Our aim is to help people stay as well as they can for as long as they can, so we understand the importance of being active and entertained.

Our two dedicated activities coordinators make sure residents have a varied and interesting programme of events. These range from quizzes, board games and handicrafts to outings to places they choose. We also celebrate at least one seasonal event each month, such as Burns Night or St Patrick's Day, and we hold an annual summer fete and a fun day.
