Welcome to Welcome Independent Living
In February 2013 a little band of 4 or 5 people decided to set up the best home care company and mobility shop in the region with the worst possible business model!
Our aim:
- To pay lovely well trained staff the most we could afford
- To provide local care by local people in the rural areas no one else was interested in
- To deliver quality care with consistent carers at the times our customers wanted it for the least amount of brass
- To create a long term sustainable care company that matched ethics with profitability
- To make social care accessible by putting it on the High Street and being up front and honest
Our little band of 4 or 5 is now over 80 lovely people delivering more than 2000 care calls per week to over 130 customers. Everything from cleaning and gentle companionship to complex end of life care. Sometimes we just travel miles up and down our beautiful valley to help someone go to the toilet, all for the princely sum of £3.12…..our customers love us but our bank manager is less than ecstatic!
We try our best under difficult circumstances in a difficult and underfunded sector. Occasionally we get it wrong but we are if nothing else, broad shouldered. When we do get it wrong we listen and we put it right.
We pride ourselves on putting up with some of the nicest but also some of the mardiest customers out there. So if you have a relative that resembles either description why not give us a bell. Tea, toilets and sympathy…….all free at Welcome Independent Living.
We provide Personal Assistants to attend to your home care needs or support you with community based day care, leisure or supported employment from just £13.00 per hour. Support with personal care, washing, bathing, shopping, cleaning, cooking, health appointments, overnight stays, companionship, odd jobs, maintenance, befriending. All our friendly staff are compassionate and approved and CRB checked by the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service).
Our homecare services include but are not restricted to:
- Care of the Elderly
- Therapeutic services, keep fit & physiotherapy
- Supporting care at home, environment design
- Mobility aids, stair lifts, adaptations and specialist assistive technology
- Access to day care centres and leisure opportunities
- Rehabilitation support
- Home education or in school support
- Support for people with Learning Disabilities, physical disabilities or acquired brain injury
- We can support with environmental adaptations and designs including low sensory autism designs
- Outreach & Re-enablement – hospital to home services

An outstanding provider
Welcome Independent Living are an outstanding organisation. they put care and their clients at the heart of everything they do. Even through times of severe weather conditions and flooding they make sure that their service is kept at the highest standard. Their staff and management team always go the extra mile. I'd have no hesitation in recommending and endorsing them.
